If you want a match, measue imac/macbook natie white with an i1DisplayPro, Displa圜AL and CCSS correction for mac P3 "WLED PFS" (bundled corrections for i1d3 in DIsplaycal, just import them). Mac computers integrated screens need to correct white in GPU, even imacs are just big laptops, and since OS color management is so limuted this may cause artifacts. Calibrated Dell and mac white can differ. Since Resolve, Adobe suite and basic macos apps and OS desktop is color managed its easier to aim to Native gamut, D65 and 2.2 gamma.įactory white in iMacs and macbooks is not D65, it's cooler because Apple do not care and staying close to panel native white you gaih a little bit of contrast. It's very likely taht such profile will be very clos to the one generated by Dell HW cal software. So keep default profile type (idealized, maybe innacurate). If you wish to just profile without calibrating grey in GPU, set in DIspla圜AL in "Calibration" tab all targets to native/as measured. but additionally on displays with HW cal it can contzain grey calibration in a VCGT tag. They are just a description of display behavior. Yes you can generate a more accurate profile, but that is not "software".

One can use standard ICCs that comes with the system. In my understanding once a display is hardware calibrated to a known standard (e.g., DCI-P3), there is no need to generate monitor-specific color profiles (ICC).Is the built-in colorimeter supported by software like Displa圜AL? Can one use the built-in colorimeter to perform software calibration (generating ICC profiles)?.
